Who We Are

Fundi Bots was founded in the belief that Africa needs a local and social approach to its technical problems. We want to focus on the promotion, exposure, experimentation and technological growth in the fields of electronics and robotics.

We plan to do this by a) creating a place where passionate African children can learn, grow and experiment with machines, gadgets and technology with no obligations and b) creating an environment that fosters collaboration on both social and commercial solutions to our technical problems from an African perspective.

What We Are Doing

Currently, Fundi Bots’ founder, Solomon King gives presentations on robotics and electronics to high school students through invitations from Cafe Scientifique. So far we give presentations to more than five schools on a regular basis.

As we work towards getting Fundi Bots off the ground and independent, we are talking to individuals and organisations who are willing to help or partner with us in any way they can so we can expand our outreach and improve our “robotics lab”, which is still currently housed at the founder’s home.

How You Can Help

Our dream is big, but the only way to build a house is one brick at a time. We need any kind of help, whether you are good at electronics and can give teaching time or if you can simply help raise awareness about Fundi Bots.

However, our most immediate need is financial, because, quite frankly, this stuff is expensive. To see the stuff we need, download the Fundi Bots Profile + Budget (1703) then if you would like to help, drop us a line, we’ll give you the details.

If you can help us purchase and ship electronics components from different vendors, you will have saved us a tonne of money.
